Fertility is a very emotional area: for some people, receiving the news that they may not be able to have children is devastating. The process of becoming pregnant, where both female and male issues come into play, can be complex and confusing. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) define ‘infertility’ as failing to get pregnant after two years of trying. According to the HFEA (Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority), an estimated one in six couples experience problems, and infertility is the second most common reason for women aged 20-45 to see their GP.
